My thoughts are that if it was of any serious concern that I would have to see someone about it immediately, so I am worried, but not too worried.
Just wondering if anyone else has had any experience with this. I have done a bit of reading and it seems that I have a lot of the indicators, being
- being overweight;
- having a family history of diabetes; (my maternal grandmother was diabetic)
- being older than 30.
I am just a bit dissapointed because I have been quite good with my eating and not put on too much weight, so I was thinking I wouldnt have to deal with anything like this...
I am going to stay positive and try and be as healthy as I can. One of the main issues that can arise from GD is having a large baby, and I really want to try to have a 'normal' delivery, so I am going to eat well, stay away from the lolly cupboard and do a bit more excercise - and DRINK MORE WATER!!
Will update more after I see the specialist. Hope you are all having a good week.

Hi! Thanks for your comment on my blog, I have popped in to return the favour and ended up reading your archives!! Congratulations on your pregnancy, and also on the weight lost pre-pregnancy, and not gained back!! No mean feat, I am sure :-)
Oh, by the way, your baby bump is beautiful!!!!!
I hope it's not too much to worry about. Take care and continue what you are already doing. I suppose no one can ask any more of you. Just wait until you've seen the specialist and take it from there. Like you said I'm sure that if it was any major concern then you would be in straight away and not waiting. Thanks for the tip on the vapouriser. I never gave that a second thought. My sister used to have one. I wonder if she still has it. Will definately have to ask or investigate buying one for myself. XX
I'm sure it's fine, my dear. Sounds like you're doing all the right things already. Sometimes people just get GD for no reason and there's not much anyone can do. You've been doing so fabulously that I'm sure you'll be able to take this in your stride and have a perfectly normal labour and birth and a perfectly PERFECT little bub! Let us know what the specialist says.
The baby bump photos are beautiful!! You look wonderful.
What a pain about the diabetes - sometimes it just happens. There's not a lot you can do but take care of yourself, and follow the specialist's advice. I'm sure everything will be ok.
Look after yourself darl, let us know how you go xx
Hope the tests come back OK and that it can be controlled with diet rather than with meds. You have been doing so well and I am sure this will stand you in good stead for the rest of the pregnancy.
